Author Guidelines
Al-Hakam: Journal of Islamic Law
Manuscripts submitted to Al-Hakam: Journal of Islamic Law must be original, unpublished work, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to strictly follow the guidelines below before submitting their papers.
Manuscript Structure
1. Title & Author Details
Title should be clear, concise, and descriptive (max. 18 words). Author name(s), institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID ID must be clearly stated.
2. Abstract & Keywords
Abstract must be written in English (150–250 words), highlighting research objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions. Provide 3–5 relevant keywords separated by semicolons.
3. Main Text Layout (IMRaD Format)
- Introduction: Background, research problem, literature review/gap analysis, and clear research objective.
- Methods: Research design, legal approaches (normative/empirical), data sources, and analysis techniques.
- Results & Discussion: Comprehensive legal analysis, critical discussion, and theoretical/practical implications.
- Conclusion: Direct answers to the research questions and brief recommendations or future research directions.
4. Arabic Transliteration & References
Arabic words or terms should follow the Library of Congress (LOC) transliteration system. References must contain at least 80% primary sources (reputable journal articles published within the last 10 years).

- Manuscript is formatted according to the official Article Template.
- All citations and references follow Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note) using Mendeley/Zotero.
- Plagiarism/Similarity check results are below 20%.
- All authors' affiliations, ORCID IDs, and active emails are correctly included.
- Manuscript has undergone thorough proofreading for English/Arabic language clarity.
